How to check if a journal is indexed in Web of Science?

The Web of Science collection contains only the journals that publish quality research. The Web of Science Core Collection includes the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), Arts & Humanities Citation Index (AHCI), and Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI).

Steps to verify if a journal is indexed in Web of Science

There are various methods to verify Web of Science journals. However, it is always recommended to use the official website of the Web of Science i.e. Clarivate.

  1. Visit the official website of Clarivate: https://mjl.clarivate.com/home
  2. Search by the Journal’s Name or Journal ISSN.
  3. If the journal is indexed in the Web of Science, the search result will show the journal’s information. The information includes Journal Title, Journal Publisher, ISSN / eISSN, and Web of Science core collection (AHCI or ESCI or SSCI or SCIE).
  4. Further, researchers can check more information about the journal by clicking on the journal profile page.
